Leyla Varol started her art works by making oil paintings. She received illumination training from Derya Önder in 1999, paper marbling training from Meral Özcan in 2003, and tile training from Nurhan Yılmaz in 2004. During this period, she started giving Illumination and Paper Marbling lessons in her workshop.
In 2010, the artist participated in miniature classes with Berrin Çakin Güç at the Turkish Islamic Arts Specialisation Centre and continued her miniature works in the project group until 2016.
Leyla Varol, who participated in many group exhibitions both at home and abroad, was deemed worthy of exhibiting her works in the State Turkish Decorative Arts Competitions in Paper Marbling in 2005, Miniature in 2011 and 2015. In 2011, the artist, who took part in the 'Face of Istanbul' ('İstanbul'un Yüzü') project of the Classical Turkish Arts Foundation, won the second prize in 2014 and the first prize in 2015 in the Miniature branch of the Masters of the Future Traditional Arts Competition. She also won an honourable mention in Konya Meram Miniature Competition in 2016.
She is currently working as a miniature instructor at Kenz Art Workshop, which she founded.
