Elif Yurdakul Taşkın was born in Istanbul in 1991. In 2014, she graduated from Marmara University Faculty of Theology. In 2011, Taşkın started to take paper marbling lessons from Ahmet Sacit Açıkgözoğlu, received her ijazah (authorisation) in 2014 and still continues her paper marbling studies. Since 2018, she has been taking Quilling (Katı') lessons from Safiye Morçay and started to teach Quilling Art in 2022. In 2024, she completed her master's degree at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, Institute of Traditional Turkish Arts, Department of Bookbinding.

The artist, who has participated in various exhibitions, workshops and organisations in Paper Marbling and Quilling art branches in Türkiye and abroad, still continues to give trainings in Paper Marbling and Quilling art branches.
