Birgül Tayfur

Birgül Tayfur was born in 1968 in Istanbul, where she completed her high school education. In 2011, she started paper marbling art and was granted the ijazah (authorisation) for paper marbling from M. İsmail Tirkeş. In the 17th, 18th and 19th State Turkish Decorative Arts Competitions, her works in the paper marbling art were deemed worthy of exhibition. She was awarded the second prize in paper marbling in the ‘7 Hills 7 Arts’ International Istanbul Classical Arts Competition and the third prize in the Masters of the Future Competition organised by Zeytinburnu Municipality. The artist, who has participated in many group exhibitions, continues her works at Kadim Sanat Paper Marbling Workshop in Üsküdar, Istanbul.
