Born in 1997 in Bolu, Aysun Mirzeoğlu graduated from Istanbul Cağaloğlu Anatolian Girls Technical and Vocational High School, Department of Graphic Design and Photography in 2015. During her high school education, she received charcoal and still life training from painters Bilgin Çelik and Dilek Yerlikaya. In the same year, she was admitted to Fatih Sultan Mehmet Vakıf University, Department of Traditional Turkish Arts, where she took miniature and illumination classes from Lecturer Betül Bilgin and Lecturer Jahongir Ashurov. In 2022, she completed her thesis titled “Design Analysis of “Heft Evreng” Miniatures numbered 1483 in TSMK H. 1483” (“TSMK H. 1483 numaralı “Heft Evreng” Minyatürlerinin Tasarım Analizi”) under the supervision of Dr. Hilal Arpacıoğlu.
Since 2021, Mirzeoğlu has been working as an expert in the Miniature Workshop (Nakkaşhâne) unit of the Islamic Arts Application and Research Centre, producing works in various projects and giving miniature lessons in different founda-
tions and institutions. Since 2020, she has been the assistant of Jahongir Ashurov at the Classical Turkish Arts Foun-
dation.
The artist participated in many national and international exhibitions and took part in important projects. In 2022, Mirzeoğlu, who participated in the “Teveccüh Exhibition” held at the Palace Collections Museum of the National Palaces Department in 2022, met art lovers with her works at the 2nd Yeditepe Biennial in 2022. The works of the artist, who wonawards in national competitions in miniature branch, were published in different magazines and publications. Aysun Mirzeoğlu continues to keep traditional Turkish arts alive with her original works and continues her works in this field.
