Born in 1982 in Konya, the artist started taking calligraphy lessons from Calligrapher Hüseyin Öksüz in 1999 with the encouragement of his grandfather, the late calligrapher Abdullah Rıza Bey. In 2000, he graduated from Seljuk Imam Hatip High School and in 2003 he received the authorisation (ijazah) in Thuluth and Naskh. In 2005, he graduated from Selçuk University Faculty of Fine Arts, Traditional Turkish Arts, Calligraphy Department. In 2009, he completed his master's degree at Selçuk University, Institute of Social Sciences, Department of Sociology.
Since 2005, he started to benefit from teachers Davud Bektaş, Mehmed and Osman Özçay. He still continues taliq lessons with Hüseyin Öksüz. He won various awards, including the first prize in the Jali Thuluth category in the Tenth International Calligraphy Competition organised by the Islamic Research Centre for History, Art and Culture (IRCICA).
